I just purchased War of Ashes lat night and have spent maybe an hour looking through it. So far, I'm very impressed with its system of applying miniatures and battlemaps to Fate-style games. This was the reason I purchased War of Ashes and I'm relieved to see it looks very portable. But there's also a system for incurring/avoiding the attention of various dieties that seems similar to (and maybe less freeform than) the icons of 13th Age that I found really intriguing. Meanwhile, the art and presentation of War of Ashes is top-notch, and the Muppets meet Medieval Warfare vibe unique and interesting enough I may have to play the game itself, not just utilize its unique rule-bits. Recommended.
