Divine Reliquary

"Then he gave the hammer to Thor, and said that Thor might smite as hard as he desired, whatsoever might be before him, and the hammer would not fail; and if he threw it at anything, it would never miss, and never fly so far as not to return to his hand; [...] but indeed it was a flaw in the hammer that the fore-haft was somewhat short.

-Prose Edda

The Divine Reliquary is a book of Relics for Scion Second Edition. Inside you'll find over 40 new Relics for your Scions and their enemies, as well as a small collection of minor magical items that can be created by Heroic Scions as Tier 2 objects, and ideas for designing your Relics.

These Relics are only samples of what you can make in Scion and are meant as a quick pick-and-grab for when you can't think of a Relic yourself. Many of these Relics are inspired by mythical objects and items while some are inspired by modern tropes and a few are entirely new.

Divine Reliquary is split into these chapters:

  • Chapter 1: Introduction
  • Chapter 2: Charms and Talismans
  • Chapter 3: 1-dot Relics
  • Chapter 4: 2-dot Relics
  • Chapter 5: 3-dot Relics
  • Chapter 6: 4-dot Relics
  • Chapter 7: 5-dot Relics
  • Appendix: List of Relics

The appendix lists all of the Relics according to their ratings and also lists a breakdown of their rating according to abilities and flaws.

Compatible with Scion Second Edition. Requires the use of Scion: Origin, Scion: Hero, Mysteries of the World, and Titanomachy from the Onyx Path Publishing.
Also requires the use of Divine Armory, Divine Garage, and Divine Menagerie by Óskar Örn Eggertsson.

I found two main uses for the information here. The short-lived talismans or magical objects that heroes can make section is going to be a frequent use at my table. The rest of the relics are great if you do not have an idea for a particular NPC's [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
